Dr. Gayle Wagman
Dr. Wagman graduated in 1985 from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. From the time she was a young girl her ambition was to become a dentist. Gayle is a people person who loves interacting with patients of all ages. It gives her great pleasure to share in their milestones and achievements for many decades. Dr. Wagman continues to improve the quality of her dental care by taking extensive courses on many aspects of dental treatment. After work you can find her calling her patients, their doctors, and their families, taking care of their needs.
Dr. Wagman always has a good story, a funny joke, or a great family photo to share. She leads an active lifestyle, and loves to travel, snowshoe, hike, canoe, SUP and relax outdoors. She also loves to golf if her husband will let her!
When away from the office, Dr. Wagman and her husband Marc enjoy spending time with their 2 daughters Alex and Sydney and Alex’s husband Mike.
Dr. Michelle Crystal
Growing up in Toronto, Dr. Crystal always knew she wanted to be a dentist. After graduating from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 1995, she joined Dr. Wagman in the practice. Together they have been providing high quality comprehensive dental care in a friendly, professional environment.
Dr. Crystal believes in a stress-free workday, often sharing books or swapping recipes with her staff and patients. Her caring personal style is one of her greatest attributes. She spends a long time with her patients, listening to their dental concerns as well as their personal stories.
Dr. Crystal takes a special interest in general practice for families. She values continuing education and has taken several courses on cosmetic, implant and crown and bridge dentistry.
Dr. Crystal is a passionate reader, a horrible golfer, and a competitive mahjong player. She enjoys traveling with her husband Adam, and their two children, Holly and Owen. Dr. Crystal loves entertaining in her backyard with friends and family. Her biggest thrill comes from her mini dachshunds Oakley and Bowie.
Hygienists Colleen, Sheryl, Annie and Kate
Colleen first started her career as a registered nurse at SickKids Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She then decided to go back to school to pursue a career in dental hygiene. She graduated from George Brown School of Dental Hygiene in 1989 and immediately started working at our dental practice. To this day, she works as a dental hygienist and as a registered nurse in the SickKids NICU.
Shopping is Colleen’s favourite sport. On her days off, you can find Colleen spending her hard-earned paycheques at Yorkdale. She enjoys food shows on Netflix and family dinners with her husband (Mike) and three kids (Cole, Paige, and Tyler).
Kate has been practicing Dental Hygiene since 2009. Graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. Followed by completing a College Degree in Dental Hygiene. Animals have always been a huge part of her life. She lived in British Columbia for four years and worked at a Wild Life Center where she rescued and rehabilitated wild animals, from birds of prey to black bears. She is the proud mama of an adopted American Bulldog named Sully. Fitness and sports have always been a big part of her life. Playing summer softball leagues and running being a couple of her favorites. Sully is her running partner every day all year round.
Sheryl joined our dental practice soon after graduating from Seneca College in 1982. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons and recently became a mother-in-law. In her spare time Sheryl enjoys playing Canasta and Mahjong and belonging to a monthly book club.
Annie is a graduate from Niagara College. She has been working as a Dental Hygienist since 2005 but has been in the dental field since she was 20 years old. She loves educating patients on oral care and gossiping when it fits. During this pandemic she has found the love of reading again. Enjoys watching movies, collecting Funko pop dolls and Harry Potter.
Assistants Silvana and Laura
Silvana has been working along-side Dr. Wagman since 1985. They read each other minds. Silvana loves her hometown in Rome and can speak fluent Italian.
She loves to dance and enjoys listening to a good disco track. Silvana enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
Laura has been a dental assistant since 2003. She and Dr. Crystal make a great team. Laura loves to read but is particularly fond of podcasts. She loves to spend time with her family and friends – especially her nephew.
She has two birds named Yoshi and Bird and is always trying to teach them new words or impressive tricks.
Receptionist Rema and Monika
Rema is one of the receptionists you will meet when you enter our office. She has enjoyed working with Dr. Wagman and Dr. Crystal since 2006. Coming to work is easy since the office feels like family to her.
In her spare time, Rema loves to work in her garden. Once a week, she works with a group of children at her church for a bible study club.
Monika is a graduate of George Brown College and joined the Reception team and the dentakchicks in 2016.
She loves to travel – especially to Walt Disney World. Outside of the office, Monika likes to bake, sketch, watch movies and study filmmaking. She also loves music and enjoys going to concerts. Being an animal lover, she is an advocate for animal protection organizations such as WWF, Toronto Zoo & the Humane Society.
